Now in its 44th year, Big 5 Global, a leading construction industry event, took place this year from 4-7 December in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Big 5 Global, a major hub for the global construction industry, comprised a series of conferences and workshops, hosting no less than 2,200 exhibitors over four days at the Dubai World Trade Center.

This year’s event saw a record attendance of over 81,000 professionals from 166 countries, demonstrating its global reach and importance.

Cătălin Podaru, CEO of Ubitech Constructions and Leviatan Design, was present at the event, along with Marius Postolache, Technical Director at eConfaire Immersive Design, one of our group’s companies specialising in the development of IT&C services, which has provided us with numerous automation and digitisation solutions over the years.

For our group companies, the event was a real opportunity to discover new solutions and advanced tenologies in the construction sector, giving us an important insight into the future of this field.

At Big 5 Global, our specialists noted a number of products, technologies and practices geared towards energy efficiency and decarbonisation of the construction sector. For example, United Motors and Heavy Equipment Company announced the launch of three Wacker Neuson zero-emission machines, Radiodetection presented the RD8200 SG, a mapping and locating device, and Milwaukee Tool brought to the forefront new zero-emission equipment technologies and a full range of construction solutions.

The Big 5 Leaders and Big 5 FutureTech Summits focused on the urgent need to improve the efficiency of building materials to reduce the impact of climate change, and brought up the importance of technology adoption and collaboration to achieve these goals. We therefore believe that BIG 5 Global 2023 was not only a meeting place for construction industry professionals, but also a catalyst for change and progress.
