Ubitech Construcții signed yesterday, 28.02.2024, the contract for the first package of construction works at the Regional Emergency Hospital Cluj, which will become the main center for the care of critical patients and complex cases in the North-West region of the country.
The contract signed by Ubitech Constructions for the first stage of the project includes site organisation works, rough excavation of the earth, diversion of utility networks and arrangement of temporary access routes, construction of a watertight enclosure of moulded walls, retaining walls made of drilled piles, as well as preparatory works for the extension of the site organisation in the second stage of the project, to be put out to tender, for the actual construction of the hospital.
The project has a total estimated value of 3.35 billion lei and will be financed mainly by the Ministry of Investment and European Projects with 2 billion lei (of which 1.64 billion lei national contribution and 350 million lei European funds) and a 1.525 billion lei loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB).

The Regional Emergency Hospital in Cluj will be a major medical institution offering a full range of medical services and with a capacity of 849 beds. Of these, 336 beds are for surgical care, 343 beds for medical care, 64 beds for paediatrics and obstetrics-gynaecology, 82 beds for intensive care (of which 10 for paediatric intensive care), as well as specialised facilities for neonatal intensive care and the burns unit.
The hospital will also include a dedicated cardiology centre, an integrated operating theatre with 22 operating theatres and will provide day hospital and day surgery services.
