Ubitech Construcții has started the works at the Cluj Regional Emergency Hospital, inaugurated on the occasion of the ground breaking ceremony on May 18, 2024, on the hospital site, in the presence of several state officials.
Ubitech Constructions is currently carrying out the first stage of this ambitious project, which includes site organization works, rough excavation of the earth, diversion of utility networks and arrangement of temporary access routes, construction of a watertight enclosure of moulded walls, retaining walls made of drilled piles, as well as preparatory works for the extension of the site organization in the second stage of the project, to be put out to tender, for the actual construction of the hospital.
“We are here to get the job done. So far, we have been involved in critical infrastructure projects, and through the professionalism of the team, we have managed to stay on schedule and at times even ahead of schedule. We are charged with the responsibility of this project and I can assure you that both I and our team, beyond our professional obligation and contractual obligations, are also inspired by the importance of participating in projects that we can tell our grandchildren about. Ubitech, as part of the Leviatan Group, believes in technology, and on this occasion I would like to congratulate ANDIS for the fact that the tender and the requirements for this construction tender had some of the most modern requirements in terms of implementing the BIM standard in construction. We have already put the platform in place and I am sure that with these modern technologies we will be able to deliver the required performance. Let’s all enjoy good health”, said Cătălin Podaru, CEO Leviatan Group.
The Cluj Regional Emergency Hospital will become the main centre for the care of critical patients and complex cases in the North-West region of the country. The hospital will offer a full range of medical services and will have a capacity of 849 beds. Of these, 336 beds are for surgical care, 343 beds for medical care, 64 beds for paediatrics and obstetrics-gynaecology, 82 beds for intensive care (of which 10 for paediatric intensive care), as well as specialised facilities for neonatal intensive care and the burns unit. The hospital will also include a dedicated cardiology centre, an integrated operating theatre with 22 operating theatres and will provide day hospital and day surgery services.
“Hospitals are now being built not only with a lot of speed, but also of very high quality. We have basically 20 hospitals in the NPRR that are under construction or construction will start in the immediate period. Things are happening in Romania and the quality of healthcare will improve visibly. We are building for our communities and citizens, with responsibility and professionalism, to meet the needs of citizens,” said Alexandru Rafila, Minister of Health.
When completed, the Cluj Regional Emergency Hospital will have a total built area of 184,013 sqm, of which 176,638 sqm will be used for the main building, structured on 8 levels, G + G + 5E + Eth, heliport. The surface of the land on which the future hospital will be built is 143.064 sqm.
